This note appeared in a CAA sale in September 2000 (Lot 1366) where it realized $12,100 and was described as follows: "One of the nicest Demand notes that we have had the pleasure of handling. It was last on the market in a 1956 auction, where it was either horrendously misgraded or typoed, as the grade in the census cannot refer to this note. The margins range from small to large but are at all points clear of the design. The colors and print clarity of the note are those of an uncirculated piece, and the paper on both sides is clean and beautifully bright. Best perhaps of all, there are no signs whatever of repair or restoration. Both of the hand signatures are strong and dark. This is a lovely note from what we consider to be the most undervalued series of U.S. Currency".
